Filed under the things I shouldn't do... HAHA!

S.O.U.L.S. Paranormal had their first paranormal / horror convention this past weekend at the Julie Rogers Theater. It was very good with a couple of their guest speakers being Shannon Sylvia (think Syfy Network and Ghost Hunters International) and Steven LaChance (Author and Speaker of "The Screaming House"). There were some real, live witches and vampires and bunches of ghost hunteres scattered about. I missed most of the afternoon and evening stuff due to an over abundance of phone calls (long story), but click around... You'll like the next one...

PROOF THAT DARWIN MIGHT BE ON TO SOMETHING: (“Chicken pox parties” — in which children gather so they can all be infected by a child who has the pox — are often held by parents who distrust chicken pox vaccine or want their children to have the stronger immunity that surviving a full-blown infection affords, and are willing to take the risk that their child will not get serious complications.)

INTERESTING: "Online dating has resulted in many happy relationships out here in the real world, but also provides a unique opportunity for different kinds of scammers to quickly gain your confidence and manipulate your emotions in order to get past your normal scam-detecting defenses. So how do you protect yourself?"

A number of kids have written and asked, "Why haven’t I said anything about ACORN and all those scandals?" Here, here, and here... and so on... Well, to a degree it’s old news and goes a bit like this – Nanny State? Meet Nanny media... About the time all this was sinking it’s teeth into all the public bank rolls, nobody was looking into it – why bother to report stories that can actually effect the peoples pocket books when Britney Spears is out of control and Lindsey Lohans nose is dirty. Big media said it dropped the ball on covering this story – I say, "HORSE WASH!" Big media ignored this story to bring us more fluff than your favorite stuffed pillow. It wasn’t until SOMEBODY brought attention to it before Network news stopped looking at the red carpet tapes and realized, wait... that sounds... illegal? What else could they be missing while they track the elusive Paris Hilton hi-jinks? People secretly working off the clock the keep their jobs? Alarming numbers of scam artists getting free houses in Port Arthur? Amazing amounts of FEMA money vanishing from sight? Don’t be silly, that’s not news...
This is news!
Okay, I’m putting away my soap box now...
